More than 2000 years ago, it was demonstrated that concrete made with natural pozzolans deliver exceptional durability. By way of example, the Pantheon in Rome which is still standing after almost 2000 years and with still with the largest non-reinforced dome in the world. This exceptional durability has been maintained in the EMC Product while delivering the construction productivity requirements of today's construction at 70% Portland cement replacement which enables, in turn, low-carbon concrete and visibility to zero emissions cement and concrete by 2050.
EMC's mechanically activated pozzolans reduce the mobility of ions in the concrete structure, reducing the ability of naturally occurring environmental antagonists such as sulfates and chlorides to damage the concrete and steel reinforcements.
